    Board Meeting

    June 18, 2025

    Call to Order:   
    The SHRMA board meeting began at 4:03 pm virtually. It was presided over by Kansas Guthrie, president and recorded by Heidi Hand, secretary. 

    Approval of Minutes:   
    A motion to approve the June 3 meeting minutes was made by Kansas, seconded by Priya, and passed unanimously.

    Review of Financials:  
    The board reviewed the April financial report. The Amazon receipt requested was provided by Kansas. A motion to approve the April financial report was made by Kansas, seconded by Heidi, and passed unanimously.

    Officer’s Updates:
    •    Programs update. Meeting topics and presenters are planned through the end of the year. The July meeting will be Laurie Grenya from HR Answers with a “Choose Your Own Adventure: Conflict Version” presentation. September will be Nick from Canopy speaking on EAP. October will be a virtual meeting from Mindy on Psychological Safety at Work. She would like to hear from members what topics they are interested in. She will request SHRM credit for the July meeting.
    •    No Membership update was provided.
    •    Communications update. Priya put the Oregon state council conference information on the website. Priya was able to get NHRMA meeting information updated to our website.

    Other Business:
    •    Heidi updated the bylaws with the new SHRM template. She sent this to the board to review. 

    •    Deborah provided information regarding the Salem Chamber of Commerce membership benefits. There is a variety of membership packages available. There is a $499 membership level available. The board will review the options and discuss further at the July meeting.
    •    The group discussed highlighting membership benefits at each membership meeting. Including SHRM materials and local level HR education. Mentoring, paying it forward, developing the profession

    Adjournment
    The meeting adjourned at 5:00 pm. The next meeting date and time TBD.
