February SHRM Salem Meeting: Developing a Culture of Well-Being
- Tuesday, February 10, 2026
- 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
- Lunch will be provided for in person attendees.
When leaders want to proactively create a culture that prioritizes well-being, they need to go about it in a holistic way. All too often, we see leaders thinking the work is done if they have a wellness program in place.
In order for leadership to make wellness a part of their culture and values, they need to communicate it in three areas: Permission, Policy, and Programs.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explain why employee well-being must be addressed holistically rather than relying solely on standalone wellness programs.
- Differentiate between the three pillars of a well-being culture—Permission, Policy, and Programs—and describe the role each plays in shaping organizational culture.
- Identify gaps in their organization’s current approach to well-being by assessing how effectively Permission, Policy, and Programs are communicated and reinforced.
- Recognize leadership behaviors and messaging that signal “permission” for well-being, and evaluate how these behaviors influence employee engagement and trust.
- Apply the three-pillar framework to outline actionable steps leaders can take to more fully embed well-being into organizational values and daily practices.
Come explore these three pillars and uncover ways your organization could round out their approach to employee well being through the lens of organizational culture.
