Presentation Summary: There are several legislative changes that take effect in Oregon in 2022. This session will summarize the legal and legislative updates, provide an update on pending legislation, and discuss how employers can advocate for themselves within the legislative process.

Speakers:  Ryan Kunkel is an attorney with the law firm of Stoel Rives. He helps employers resolve employment-related disputes in litigation and counsels clients to help prevent those disputes in the first place. His practice also includes helping management resolve complex labor disputes and he has significant experience related to restrictive covenants.

Matthew Tellam is an associate with the law firm of Stoel Rives and works in the Labor & Employment group. Before joining Stoel Rives, Matt was an associate with Stahancyk, Kent & Hook PC (2019–2022), where he guided clients through family law matters including divorces, modifications, family abuse prevention act matters, and relocation proceedings. In addition to representing clients in contested court hearings, Matt has also represented clients in alternative dispute resolution settings, including mediation and arbitration. During his summers in law school, he was a legal assistant with Stephen A. Houze Law Firm (2017–2018).
