    Overview:

    This presentation will cover several I-9 topics, including:

    • Common I-9 Mistakes--The Do's and Dont's.
    • We are Being Audited, Panic is Not an Option.  This segment will focus on what to expect and how to navigate the unknown problems from audits.
    • What Road Do I Take Because the Map Keeps Changing.  This segment will cover current changes and what may be coming  in immigration compliance.

    There will be time to answer specific questions during the presentation.

    Presenter Ronald Guerra:

    Ronald "Ron" Guerra brings a unique and diverse background to representing clients in employment and labor relations matters. Ron has become a foremost advisor on immigration reform and compliance issues, advising employers regarding Form I-9 requirements. Ron represents clients in federal and state courts and before federal and state administrative agencies, including the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the U.S. Department of Labor. Prior to obtaining his legal education, Ron worked eleven years for the Whirlpool Corporation in various business management positions.  Ron was an Associate Professor of Management for Davenport University (MI) and adjunct professor at Umpqua Community College (OR).  Ron received his A.A. Business, Phoenix College (AZ), 1980; B.B.A., Siena Heights University (MI), 1986; J.D., WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law School (MI), 1991.
