Overview:
Partners in Diversity aims to create a competitive advantage for Oregon and SW Washington to attract, retain, and develop diversity influencers and professionals of color. Learn how to leverage their many resources to advance your organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn about the business case for diversity in Oregon.
- Learn about resources to help your staff of color find community.
- Learn about how our region’s people of color find living wage jobs.
Presenter:
Soumary Vongrassamy (she/her) oversees Partners in Diversity’s programming and events that help connect employers with the growing talent-of-color communities in Oregon and SW Washington.
She's worked in the intersections of K-12 education and racial justice as a grantmaker and policy influencer at the city-, state-, and federal levels. And immediately prior to Partners in Diversity, she was the HR director of DonorsChoose.org – a national tech organization that crowdfunds for public school teachers and their classroom needs. Due to her strategic and thoughtful team, DonorsChoose.org became diverse across all staff levels and was recognized by The Nonprofit Times as the #1 nonprofit to work for.
