    SHRMA Presents:

Developments in Private Sector Labor Law: Legal Update for Traditional Labor Law

    presented by Kyle Abraham

Over the past year, the NLRB has issued several cases that have altered the landscape of traditional labor law.  This program will explain the contours of the NLRB’s recent activity, and provide employers with insight on the meaning of these changes and practical labor relations tips. If your employers are represented by a labor union, or your industry if heavily unionized, this program is a must for you!

    Learning Objectives

    1. Understand the contours and practical implications of the new standards and laws regarding labor relations.
    2. Identify specific challenges attendees will face in their workplaces because of the new developments.
    3. Develop strategies to address the new challenges in the area of labor relations.

Kyle Abraham is an attorney at Barran Liebman LLP, where he represents employers in both traditional labor and employment law matters. His labor practice includes negotiating collective bargaining agreements, advising employers on labor matters, and representing employers before labor arbitrators and agencies. Additionally, he is a trained and experienced workplace investigator, an active member of the Association of Workplace Investigators, and regularly conducts investigations into allegations of employee misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other sensitive issues. Kyle serves on the Oregon Society for Human Resource Management Council as the Director of Legislative Affairs, on the Portland Human Resource Management Association Board as the Vice-President, and on the Oregon State Bar Labor and Employment Section Executive Committee as Chair-Elect.
