Carolyn Ross, Department of Human Services

Carolyn Ross has worked with the State of Oregon for the last 24 years. Carolyn is currently the Director of Human Resources for the Department of Human Services.  This is a large state agency with over 8,000 employees.  Carolyn manages a Human Resource team of 100 employees representing all personnel services.

Prior to that, Carolyn has been a Field Services Manager, Program and Policy Manager for Medicaid and SNAP, Information Technology Region Manager, Operations Manager, Training Specialist and Case Manager.  

Carolyn is the current Vice President- Membership Director/President Elect of the Salem SHRM chapter.

Carolyn is the current President of the Sherwood Rotary. Carolyn is Vice President of the National Staff Development Training Association.  Carolyn is a member of the International Personnel Management Association and the Oregon State Personnel Management Association. Carolyn has a Bachelor in Sociology/Business from the University of Oregon and a Masters in Adult Education from Oregon State University. 

Carolyn loves to Travel, Ski and River Raft and enjoys spending time with her 17 year old son and husband.

Carolyn is known for her fun and energetic training and has been so lucky to be able to train at various national conferences during the last ten years. She has trained in Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Washington, Mississippi, Virginia, Colorado, Texas, Nevada, Missouri, Alaska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas, Washington DC, California and Oregon.
